Outdoor personal training in Valencia: planning your first Turia session

New to Valencia? Plan your first private outdoor training session in the Turia Gardens: meeting point, equipment, language, scheduling and coaching options.

Outdoor personal training can be a practical way to build a routine when you are new to Valencia or prefer to exercise outside. The important questions are straightforward: where will you meet, what should you bring, how will the session match your experience, and what happens if your schedule changes?

Sergio Dolz offers private personal training in English or Spanish, with the Jardín del Turia as his main outdoor training area. This is an appointment-based outdoor service. The meeting point is agreed in advance; there is no public studio reception to visit.

Agree a precise meeting point

“The Turia Gardens” is too broad a meeting instruction on its own. During the first conversation, explain where you will travel from and the times that work for you. Before the session, confirm the exact location, the access point and how to contact Sergio if you cannot find each other.

If you are staying temporarily in Valencia, share your dates as well as your usual availability. For a home session, coverage and the space available need to be confirmed separately. Do not assume that an outdoor appointment includes a gym membership, changing facilities or storage for belongings.

Start with your current experience

The introductory call is a chance to explain what you want from training: learning how to organise strength work, becoming more consistent or preparing for a sporting goal. Mention what you currently do, what you enjoy and the difficulties that have interrupted previous routines.

You do not have to get fit before asking for individual coaching. The plan should reflect your current situation. If a health condition, injury or healthcare instruction affects exercise, say that it needs to be considered; agree an appropriate way to share any necessary details rather than sending medical documents through a general enquiry form.

What to bring, and what to confirm

  • Clothing and footwear: choose comfortable items suitable for the agreed outdoor session.
  • Personal essentials: plan what you need for the weather and your journey, including drinking water.
  • Equipment: ask what Sergio will provide for your particular session and whether you need to bring anything.
  • Timing: confirm the appointment length and allow time to reach the meeting point.
  • Contact: keep the agreed contact details handy if your journey or availability changes.

You do not need to buy a collection of training equipment before the assessment. First establish the work you will do with Sergio and whether there will be any independent training between appointments. The equipment should follow that plan.

What happens during individual coaching?

The first stage is to understand your starting point and agree the purpose of the session. Exercises, their difficulty and the way they are explained should fit your experience. Supervised practice allows you to ask questions and receive feedback on technique as you go.

Afterwards, discuss how the session felt and what the next step will be. A useful plan is more than a list of exercises: it gives you a manageable frequency, a way to communicate difficulties and a point at which to review the approach. The exact progression is individual, rather than a fixed promise that everyone should reach the same result in a month.

Weather, travel and changes of plan

Ask how outdoor conditions are handled before you book. If the planned time or setting becomes unsuitable, the next step should be agreed with Sergio. A different time, place or format depends on availability and the conditions of your service; an alternative is not automatically guaranteed.

If work trips regularly interrupt your week, discuss whether online or hybrid support would fit better. Read the guide to personal training around work and travel for the questions to prepare. Hybrid coaching includes in-person appointments, so those dates still need to work while you are in Valencia.

Prices and the first conversation

A private session costs €50. The one-to-one packs are four sessions for €160, eight for €280 and twelve for €360. The English price guide explains the per-session calculation and how these differ from home visits, online coaching and the separate sports assessment.

The first introductory call or video call is free and without obligation. It lets you discuss your situation before choosing a service; it is not a free training session. Message Sergio on WhatsApp with your goal, preferred times and where you will be travelling from, and ask to arrange that first conversation.
